I read a book last week called The Slight Edge by Jeff Olson. Thanks for the recommendation, Rick!
In the book, the author talks about how easy some habits are to do and how easy they are not to do. I love this simple statement.
Here’s a good example: if you read just 10 pages of a self-help book per day, every day, you will read about 12 books per year—just 10 pages, maybe 15 minutes. If you say, “I don’t have time,” I would say you do; you just aren’t willing to take the time.
Oh, and if you really don’t have the time to sit down and read, listen to the book. I like listening at two times the speed, which takes the amount of time to read down to roughly seven minutes.
This is an interesting stat in the same vein: only 5% of people (1 in 20) achieved the level of success and fulfillment they hoped for.
It’s easy to say yes and easy not to say yes. Going into the week, think about which of those options you’ll choose.
Life is good.
