It’s Thanksgiving week, so I thought I’d talk about gratitude and thankfulness.
The definition of thankfulness is the consciousness of the benefit received.
I wish we could be more conscious of every benefit. Whether it’s the breath we take when we wake up every morning, every view that we see, or every special person in our life. You get the picture.
Thanksgiving is a time in our family to be thankful for each other. A time to catch-up, and enjoy the food and our time together. It’s a happy time in the Russell world.
I know for me, I just feel happier this time of year.
Why is that?
Well, plenty of studies show how thanks and gratitude can improve your physical well-being. You know what I say about studies…
A 2012 study showed that grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and report feeling healthier than others.
Verywell Health shared several reasons why being thankful reduces stress. They say being grateful helps you see the good in others.
According to Psychology Today, grateful thoughts can help you sleep better. (Maybe that’s why the gratitude journal I talk about so much works out well.)
Thankfulness and gratitude sound like the magic pill. What do you think?
Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy this time with friends and family.
Life is good. Jeff
